Last night I stayed up into the early morning hours in amazement at what was transpiring with the election of Donald Trump for the office of POTUS.  Full disclosure here:  I didn't vote for Mr. Trump though he was clearly the better choice of the two, and I'm pleasantly surprised that he won.  Please don't misunderstand - I did NOT vote for that criminal, heathen Hillary. I CAN not, HAVE not & WILL not ever vote for a Democrat for dog catcher, much less POTUS as I simply can't cast my vote for a democrat because of the social platform upon which they stand - regardless of what they 'personally' feel on abortion, sodomite rights, etc... The company you keep matters... we are not to be unequally yoked in any relationship (2Cor. 6:14), and a platform that is for the murder of babies & for the right for sodomites to marry is ANTI-Bible & ultimately ANTI-Christ!

That being said, I wrote in my pick for the leader of my country - and if they would have let me take a picture of my ballot yesterday, you would have seen that my candidate of choice was 'Jesus of Narareth'.  That was who I voted for, and let me tell you - I'm not ashamed, and I feel better about that vote than any other I've ever cast! (I know many will think that foolish & that's your right, but it was my right to cast my vote that way & I did, so there :)

That being said, I want to give my thoughts on how this election can play out for America.

As I analyze this situation as I do any, I do my best to relate it to Scripture, and this is what I've come up with.  Donald Trump is no David.  The Bible says that David was a 'man after God's own heart' - I don't think this describes Mr. Trump.  I don't think that Mr. Trump's motivation in what he's doing is to lift up Jesus, promote Christian values or even look out after me.  I believe his motivations are derived from a self-centered mindset.  And while this certainly wasn't David's mindset, nor the LORD's, it did remind me of a man named Samson.

Nowhere in Scripture did Samson seek the LORD's face for the LORD's benefit.  Even in his death when he called out unto the LORD, this is what he said:

Judges 16:28 And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

His mindset was on vengeance for himself rather than the benefit of the LORD.  BUT - God used him!  He used a selfish, egotistical man to 1. Further his goal & 2. Benefit his people.

We see the beginning of God's plan unfolding in Judges 14 when Samson wanted to take a heathen wife:

Judges 14:3-4 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

Samson is not what I would classify as a 'Godly' man, but God used him.  Donald Trump is self-centered & self-serving & I would not classify him as a 'Godly' man either, but God can use him.

In the days of the Judges, the people waxed worse & worse and would turn away from God, God would then allow them to be oppressed.  However, God would then raise up a Judge to deliver them when they turned back unto him.  I don't think America is experiencing a national revival, but could it be that enough of God's people heeded the admonishment given in 2Chr 7:14 to grant a deliverance from the Judgement America has been under for the last 8 years?

Time will tell...
